Eist Linn's Ecumenical Service for 16 Days of Action 2012

Eist Linn marked the Women's Aid 16 Days of Action campaign 2012 with an Ecumenical service in the O'Connell Memorial Church Cahersiveen on 28 November.

The service included reflections, poetry, prayers, readings and music on the issue of violence against women and children.  Wreath's made by local community and women's groups were laid at the altar, and candles lit in memory of the 159 women murdered in the Republic of Ireland since 1996.  Each of the 159 women were represented by a white paper cross on the altar.

A new poster/postcard campaign highlighting the services available to women in Kerry was also launched.

Refreshments were served afterwards in the offices of Southwest Kerry Family Resource Centre.
